Our aim is to offer our customers unique reproductions of antique maps and prints not available from other poster printing services. We source curious and rare originals and professionally scan and painstakingly restore historical images in order to save the antique appearance without inevitable rips, stains and foxing. Our prints are as good as best specimens from the world of real antiques, but offered to our customers at a fraction of cost of antiques of the same quality.
The preparation of each image is a long process and we strive to balance the restoration and saving the overall integrity and antique look of the original. While we offer a limited selection of products we take pride in every restored image. The images we restore are only available as prints from www.VictorianMaps.com website and VictorianMaps outlets on Ebay and Etsy. All our images are copyrighted and you would not find these images at this quality anywhere else. Please note that the prices in our website online shop are slightly lower than in our Ebay and Etsy outlets.
We only sell our top quality prints and do not offer framing. There is no point to ship a cheap frame along with our prints as we believe they deserve better presentation. We advise our clients to use professional framing services because they offer wider choice of options including moulding, matting and glass, and would supply better quality frames. Also, it is much cheaper to ship a rolled print around the world than a framed one, and it makes perfect sense to get the unique high quality print from us and then use the services of a local framer to make the print look its very best and according to your taste.
Currently we sell our custom-printed maps and posters directly to customers in 32 countries; to individual clients as well as researchers, historians, schools, museums and corporate businesses.
