Sorcieres au Sabbat - Witches' Sabbath
A rare set of antique erotic French postcards depicting a group of naughty naked young witches setting off to Sabbath on broomsticks where they cast their spells at a cauldron and finally meet the devil. These cheeky risque postcards were created and published in Paris, France, c.1900, by means of slick nude photography combined with collage and stipple engraving. The original postcards are on matt paper. This reproduction print includes 8 painstakingly restored postcards printed together on the same sheet of antiquated matt art paper as a story sequence, as shown.
The Witches' Sabbath is a gathering of those who practice witchcraft and other rituals. Distinguishable features that are typically contained within a Witches' Sabbath are assembly by foot, beast or flight, a banquet, dancing and cavorting, and sexual intercourse.
